Frequently Asked Questions
YES. Here at BUGMEN we only use chemicals approved and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and applied only at the rates and strengths stipulated on the approved label. All of the pesticides that we use can also be used in hospitals, kitchens, schools, child care centers, food manufacturing and any other sensitive situations and meet the safety standards for these. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available on request.
In some instances of special health requirements such as asthma, respiratory concerns, allergy, very young children, pregnancy or other medical issues should be discussed with the pest management technician before treatment. We do advise to move pets or cover e.g. bird cages, etc. to different parts of the property while treating to ensure there safety.
Depending upon the type of treatment being undertaken there may be times where we will need to restrict access to treated areas.
BUGMEN carries public liability and professional indemnity insurances. Personal accident & sickness insurance and other relevant insurances. Current certificate of currencies can be produced on request.
We treat all areas accessible, that includes interior, exterior, roof void, subfloor, garden sheds, fences etc. Chemicals used will consist of liquid sprays, gels, baits, aerosols, dusts. With some treatments is may be necessary to use monitoring devices & sticky pads depending on the pest & infestation.
Most treatments are odorless so generally NO. If an odor doses occur it will be only from when the treatment starts but will leave quickly & not persist onwards, this is typical when extreme infestation has occurred due to higher concentration of chemical used.
It is recommended because we will need to access all areas when treating & or inspecting the property. In most cases you do not need to leave your home, however if the treatment requires you to leave it is unusual to be out for any longer than 4 hours. We will, however, ask for you to not be in the areas that the technician is treating at the time.
